Hana Goda overcame Monaco's Xiaoxin Yang, who is of Chinese origin, with a score of 4-1 in games during the women's singles final at the 2026 Taranto Mediterranean Games.
Although Hana Goda fell behind in the first game by a score of 10-12, she managed to stage a remarkable comeback and clinched the second game 11-4, leveling the match at 1-1 in games.
She then continued her dominance by winning the third game 12-10, followed by the fourth and fifth games with scores of 11-6 each.
Thus, Hana Goda added a new gold medal for Egypt at the 2026 Taranto Mediterranean Games, raising Egypt's total to 23 gold medals.
With this achievement, Hana Goda contributed another medal to Egypt's table tennis successes. The Egyptian men's team won silver in the men's team event, while the Egyptian women's team secured gold in the women's team competition. Additionally, Hana Goda and Omar Assar won a silver medal in the mixed doubles event.
This brings Egypt's total number of table tennis medals to four, which will increase to five thanks to Youssef Abdel-Aziz qualifying for the men's singles final.

Egypt's participation in the 2026 Taranto Mediterranean Games also saw the country surpass its previous record set at the 2022 Oran Games, where Egypt had won 51 various medals.
