Former Egypt national team coach Hassan Shehata confirmed that Shawky Gharib will take charge of the Olympic team.
The Football Association is weighing several names to fill the position of Olympic team coach in the coming period.
Hassan Shehata said on MBC Egypt: "I don't think Moatamed Jamal will take charge of the Olympic team; Shawky Gharib will coach the team. I have no information on that, but it's an inference."
He added: "If Hani Abu Rida is there, Shawky Gharib is there, and the lack of time is an empty excuse."
Shawky Gharib had previously taken charge of the Olympic team and won the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations title.
The Football Association is weighing several names to coach the Olympic team, topped by the duo of Moatamed Jamal and Mohamed Shawky.
Meanwhile, a source told Yalla Koura that the Football Association is considering enlisting Shawky Gharib as technical director of the federation.
