The Egyptian women's under-18 basketball team continued its strong performances in the World Championship after achieving a big victory over Fiji with a score of 83-17 at the conclusion of the group stage competitions.
The Egyptian team achieved a record after becoming the first team to score 83 goals in the World Cup.
The Egyptian team secured its qualification to the main round since the previous round following its victory over France before confirming its lead in the group with the wide victory over Fiji.
The Egyptian team will carry with it to the main round the result of its match against the winner of the France-Croatia match which will determine the identity of the second-place team in the group.
In the main round the Egyptian team will face the first- and second-place teams from the second group which includes Denmark South Korea and the Czech Republic.
The main round competitions are held under the system of counting the results of the teams qualified from the same group before playing two matches against the qualifiers from the other group so that the first- and second-place teams in the main round standings qualify to the quarterfinal round of the tournament.
The Egyptian team hopes to continue its distinguished results and secure a ticket to the round of eight to compete for one of the advanced positions in the Junior World Cup.
