Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Manchester City star, has caused alarm within the English club's coaching staff ahead of the match against Liverpool, scheduled for next Sunday evening as part of Matchday 6 of the Premier League.
Haaland requested to be substituted during his national team's match against Portugal due to feeling pain, in a game that the Portuguese side won 2-1, as part of Matchday 4 of the UEFA Nations League.
The Sun newspaper reported that Manchester City's coaching staff, led by Enzo Maresca, is awaiting Haaland's fate and his status regarding the injury before the Liverpool match, which will be played at Anfield.
The 26-year-old is considered one of the key pillars in Manchester City's squad, especially in terms of scoring; the Norwegian star has managed to score seven goals in seven matches, both domestically and continentally.
Manchester City tops the Premier League standings with 15 points, achieving a perfect record through five wins; they lead their pursuer Arsenal by three points.
In contrast, Liverpool sits in sixth place with nine points, having won two matches and drawn three.
