Via FilGoal

Zlatko Dalić, the head coach of the UAE national team, highlighted the strengths of his Omani counterpart ahead of their upcoming clash in the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 27).

The UAE national team is preparing to face Oman tomorrow, Saturday, in the second semi-final match of the Gulf Cup, following the game between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Zlatko Dalić said during the press conference: "We studied the Omani team's matches in the Gulf Cup, especially the last 20 minutes against Kuwait, and we analyzed all their points. We respect the Omani team, and all matches between Oman and the UAE are always difficult."

He added, "I am very happy with the way we played in the last three matches. The players delivered a great performance, and now our focus is on tomorrow's match before thinking about winning the tournament. We must strengthen our strengths and play faster; there are aspects we need to improve. The Omani team is strong, but I am optimistic and we have the ability to win."

Continuing regarding Oman having an extra day of rest, he said: "Oman got an extra day for rest, but we rested some players in the previous match, and we have no excuses. We will work at the highest level and energy for our fans. We are ready, and I do not want to offer excuses related to rest periods."

He revealed, "We must work precisely and be present. The Omani team relies on attacking from the left flank, and we must play cohesively and prevent them from reaching our goal."

He concluded, "We have a tough match ahead, and we focus only on our team without getting distracted by the opponent. Our goal is the ticket to qualify for the final."

The UAE national team qualified for the semi-finals by topping Group A on goal difference over Qatar, while Oman secured their qualification via a draw after being tied with Iraq in every aspect at the end of the group stage.
