Fathy's contract with Zamalek expires at the end of the current season.
Mohamed Nagy "Gedo," the coach of Pyramids, said via MBC Masr: "Negotiating with Ahmed Fathy? I think it is difficult given the presence of the international duo Mohamed Hamdi and Karim Hafez in the team."
Mohamed Hamdi has recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament tear that prevented him from participating with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup.
Samir Salah, agent of Ahmed Fathy, revealed that Libyan club Al-Ahli Benghazi had submitted a new offer to Zamalek to sign the player. (Read details)

The 28-year-old is one of Zamalek's leaders and has played 212 matches wearing the white jersey, scoring 7 goals and providing 22 assists.
He won 8 titles with Zamalek, comprising 3 Egyptian Premier League titles, 3 Egyptian Super Cups, and 2 Confederation Cups.
