Former referee Ahmed Al-Adawy confirmed that he was keen to prove the involvement of Oscar Ruiz, the former head of the referees committee at the Football Association, in immoral acts, which led to his dismissal from his position.
The Egyptian Football Association had announced weeks ago its thanks to the Colombian, Oscar Ruiz, for his period in the presidency of the referees committee, before settling on appointing Essam Abdel Fattah instead of him.
Ahmed Al-Adawy said in statements to the "Al-Kalam Al-Mazboot" program on On Sport FM radio, which was published by the media personality, Hani Hathout: "Ruiz had to leave the referees committee.. Egypt is a big country, what works for them doesn't work for us".
He added: "I told Hani Abu Rida, the head of the Egyptian Football Association, that this man was not suitable to be in Egypt".
He continued: "I presented evidence to Hani Abu Rida in my meeting with him.. (chat, and testimonies, it involves people's honor so it doesn't work).. Abu Rida told me (this is a disaster what you're saying, a disaster)".
He completed: "I got angry at those who discussed the topic in the media, as there is a person who said he possesses photos, videos, and documents.. I tell him you are a liar, because there are no videos".
He continued: "The owner of the 'chat' incident is present.. The referee is present, but I must protect the referee, as he is (a young boy who is extremely manly) He stopped this man - meaning Oscar Ruiz - in his tracks".
Ahmed Al-Adawy concluded his statements by saying: "Despite that, there was an intention to continue with Oscar? No, just rumors, as there is a decisive and firm stance, and I knew very well that this man would not continue".
