Ferran Torres repeats a fantastic achievement in the World Cup final

Ferran Torres, the star of the Spanish national team, entered the history of the World Cup final from the widest doors, after scoring a valuable goal in the Argentine net.

Spain's national team faces its Argentine counterpart in the final match of the 2026 World Cup, and the anticipated match between the two teams is held at New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States of America.

Ferran Torres enters the history of the World Cup final

The goal came in the 106th minute, during the second extra time, after a wonderful cross from Pedro Porro that reached Nico Williams, who headed it to Ferran Torres, who shot it powerfully with his left foot into the net.

And with his goal for Spain, Ferran Torres became the first substitute player to score a goal in a World Cup final since Mario Götze with Germany, which was against Argentina on July 13, 2014 (in the 113th minute), during the final of the edition held in Brazil.

Moreover, Ferran Torres is considered the second Spanish player to score a goal in a World Cup final, after his compatriot Andrés Iniesta against the Netherlands, in the 2010 final in South Africa, which is another goal for the Matadors in extra time.

Spain's lineup for the match included: Unai Simón; Porro, Cubarsí, Laporte, Cucurella; Rodri, Ruiz; Yamal, Dani Olmo, Baena; Oyarzabal.

While Argentina's lineup included: "Emiliano Martínez; Montiel, Romero, Lisandro Martínez, Tagliafico; González, Enzo, De Paul, McAllister; Álvarez, Messi".

And the Argentine national team qualified for the 2026 World Cup final after achieving victory against England, by two goals to one, in the semi-final round.

On the other hand, the Spanish national team secured its place in the final match after an important victory over France, by two goals to nil, in the semi-final.
