A source within the Egypt national team revealed the reasons for rejecting a match against Colombia or Paraguay next October as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Egypt national team is scheduled to play two matches during the current September camp: against Angola on September 25 at Cairo Stadium, and then against South Sudan on September 29 in Juba, South Sudan, in the first and second rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Batoutat has learned that the Egypt national team received an offer to face either Colombia or Paraguay next October in America, but the team refused to travel to America to play against either side.
The source confirmed that the rejection was due to the long travel distance, especially since the team will travel to South Sudan during this camp to play against the host nation, and the coaching staff preferred to hold a friendly match in Egypt, which led to the agreement with South Africa.
