Spanish club Espanyol has entered into negotiations with Jeddah's Al-Ittihad to discuss the transfer of Serbian defender Jan Carlo Simic, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya.

The report explained that the two clubs are negotiating a permanent transfer, or on a loan basis.
The report added that Al-Ittihad Jeddah's management is currently working on rearranging the team's squad in preparation for the new season's competitions by reducing the number of foreign players in line with the technical staff's needs.
The talks with the Spanish club also depend on the player's approval of the transfer if the two parties reach a final agreement.
This is in conjunction with restructuring the squad and selecting the elements that will compete in the next season.
Al-Ittihad Jeddah had strengthened the first team's defense and the under-21 team by signing Jan Carlo Simic last summer until 2029.
The Serbian played 15 matches with the team in various competitions since joining it, totaling 1166 minutes, during which he received two yellow cards, without any goal contributions.
