Egypt national team: Ibrahim Hassan did not insult the players... and there was no altercation with Salah

Mohamed Morad, the media officer for the Egyptian national team, denied that Ibrahim Hassan, the Egypt team manager, had insulted the players during or after the Angola match.

The Egyptian national team drew 0-0 with Angola in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

In statements sent to journalists, Mohamed Morad said: "I categorically deny the rumors that Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, insulted or swore at the players during or after the Angola match."

He added, "Videos emerged showing Hossam Hassan and Mohamed Salah together on the bench during the match, but no altercations occurred."

He continued, "The technical staff did not meet with the players at all after the Angola match, as the staff was in a small room at Cairo Stadium, while the players were inside the dressing room."

He clarified, "Everyone headed to the hotel, where Hossam Hassan met the players over a meal and made sure to support them and boost their morale."

He concluded, "There is no anger nor any agreement among groups of players to boycott joining the Egyptian national team starting from the next camp."

The Egyptian national team beat South Sudan 5-0 in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Egypt's goals were scored by Omar Marmoush (two), Ziko, Ibrahim Adel, and Hamza Abdel Karim.

Egypt raised its points tally to four in the group stage.
