A source at Zamalek revealed details about Mohamed El-Sayed's celebration after scoring his team's second goal against Suez Petroleum SC, and the reason behind his celebration with goalkeeper Mohamed Awad's "shankar" (headscarf).
The source confirmed to Yalla Kora that the "shankar" Mohamed El-Sayed wore during his goal celebration originally belonged to his teammate Mohamed Awad.
He added that before the match kicked off, Mohamed Awad made sure to support Mohamed El-Sayed, speaking with him and assuring him that he would be able to score.
The source indicated that after Mohamed El-Sayed successfully scored against Suez Petroleum SC, the player insisted on celebrating with Mohamed Awad's "shankar" in front of the cameras, a gesture reflecting the mutual support among the players.
Zamalek had defeated Suez Petroleum SC by two goals to one in the match played Monday evening at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the third round fixtures of the Egyptian Premier League.
Hossam Ashraf, the Zamalek player, received the Man of the Match award after starting in the lineup selected by coach Motamed Gamal, before leaving the field in the 86th minute.
Hossam Ashraf opened the scoring for Zamalek in the 40th minute of the match, after Shiko Panza delivered a cross into the penalty area, which Ashraf headed into the net.
