Barcelona defeated Elche 5-0 at the Manuel Martínez Valero Stadium in the second round of the 2026/2027 La Liga season, a match in which Hamza Abdul Karim remained on the bench.
Raphinha scored Barcelona's first goal from a penalty in the 14th minute, and Karim Adeyemi added the second in the 48th minute. Raphinha extended Barcelona's lead with a third goal in the 67th minute, before Fermín López scored two consecutive goals in the 71st and 79th minutes.
Barcelona secured its first three points of the new La Liga season, moving up to fourth place, with a postponed match against Athletic Bilbao still to play. Meanwhile, Elche remains at the bottom of the table without a single point.

The La Liga organization had postponed Barcelona's first match of the season against Athletic Bilbao to allow international players who participated in the 2026 World Cup ample rest before the start of the new season.
Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao next Thursday, August 27, at 10:00 PM Egypt time at the Camp Nou Stadium in a postponed match from the first round of the Spanish La Liga.
The match will kick off at 10:00 PM Cairo and Mecca time and will be broadcast on the Qatari "beIN Sports" channels, which hold the broadcasting rights for La Liga matches in the Middle East and North Africa.
