Al-Nassr Club, the Saudi League champion, has finalized its first summer transfers before the start of the new season by signing Samu Costa, the midfielder of the Spanish team Real Mallorca.
The signing of the Portuguese international comes to compensate for the departure of Croatian Marcelo Brozović after the end of his contract this summer.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Okaz", Samu Costa has become a Nasrawi after agreeing on all contract terms, pending the completion of official procedures and the final announcement of the deal.
The newspaper reported that Costa arrived at the team's camp in Lisbon yesterday, Monday, making the Portuguese player the first signing for "Al-Alami" during the current summer transfer window.
Al-Nassr Club had suffered in the past period from administrative crises, in addition to financial problems within the club, which led to the delay in announcing the Samu Costa deal.
The 25-year-old has a career in European stadiums, having played for Portuguese Sporting Braga, as well as defending the colors of Spanish Almería and Real Mallorca.
Al-Nassr is scheduled to start the new season with a match against Al-Fateh on August 15 at "Al-Awwal Park" stadium, within the Saudi Roshn League competitions.
"Yellow of the Capital" had won the Saudi Roshn League title in the previous season after a struggle with Al-Hilal that extended until the last round.
