Spanish club Almeria defeated its counterpart, Saudi Al-Nassr, by two goals to nil, in the friendly match that brought the two teams together this evening, Tuesday, as part of preparations for the new season's competitions.
The events of the match, which was held at Campo Estrela stadium in Portugal on the sidelines of the two teams' camp for the new season, were of a good level, amid mutual control between the two teams over the course of play.
Al-Nassr, led by their new coach Ange Postecoglou, entered the match with a lineup consisting of Bento, Saad Al-Nasser, Mohamed Simakan, Inigo Martinez, Salem Al-Najdi, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Sami Al-Najai, Rakan Al-Ghamdi, Saad Haqawi, Angelo, and Abdullah Al-Hamdan.
The second half saw the participation, on Al-Nassr's side, of Abdulilah Al-Amri, Nader Al-Sharari, Ayman Yahya, Ali Al-Hassan, Mohamed Maran, Joao Felix, Sadio Mane, Majed Qashish, Abdulmalik Al-Jaber, and Awad Aman.
After the first half ended in a goalless draw, Almeria's player Dayiro Chirino managed to score the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute, before the player Adrian Embarba added the second goal in the 61st minute from a penalty kick.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr's star who has not yet participated in the team's training, made sure to follow the match from the stands, alongside Jorge Jesus, the team's former technical director.
With the end of the friendly match, Al-Nassr club concluded its preparatory program in Lisbon, Portugal, with the team's delegation set to depart tomorrow morning to the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Al-Nassr club will begin its campaign to defend the Saudi League title with a match against Al-Fateh on August 15, at Al-Awwal Park Stadium.
