Argentina swept aside Burkina Faso in a friendly match played during the current international break, as part of preparations for upcoming competitions.

Argentina defeated Burkina Faso 7-0 in the match held at the Monumental Stadium.

Lionel Messi was absent from the match, with his appearance expected in the upcoming fixture against Benin, which will be his final game wearing the Argentina jersey.

Argentina crushes Burkina Faso

Argentina easily overcame their Burkinabe opponents, who fielded an under-23 team, after the first team faced difficult travel conditions to play the match.

Burkina Faso had agreed to play the match against Argentina without receiving any financial compensation, while the Stallions' players refused to travel via low-cost flights arranged by La Albiceleste.

Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring for Argentina in the fourth minute, before a Burkina Faso player scored an own goal eight minutes later.

Gianluca Prestianni successfully netted the third goal in the 12th minute, followed by Nico Paz scoring the fourth goal in the 35th minute.

Julián Álvarez scored the fifth goal in the 36th minute, Franco Mastantuono added the sixth in the 57th minute, and Giuliano Simeone completed the scoring in the 90+3rd minute.
