However, the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Hamza Abdulkarim's teammate in Barcelona's youth setup, Ebrima Touray, suffered a serious ankle injury during a friendly match played by Barcelona Atlètic last Friday in Vilanova, forcing him to leave the field.

The newspaper added that, according to medical examinations undergone by Touray, the player will be sidelined for five weeks. The 16-year-old had been included in a list compiled by Barcelona coach Hans Flick, featuring La Masia youths, to join the first team during the preseason preparations.
Mundo Deportivo confirmed that Touray will not join the Spain Under-18 national team, which is set to participate in a friendly tournament in the coming period.
Jordi Bescós, the young Barcelona player currently with the first team, will instead join the Spain Under-18 national squad for this tournament.
Touray's injury raises concerns about Hamza Abdulkarim's continued presence with Barcelona's first team in the coming period, as he might be called up by Barcelona Atlètic coach Juliano Belletti.
Hamza Abdulkarim is currently the only out-and-out striker in Flick's squad, while Barcelona aims to sign Julián Álvarez, Atlético Madrid's star, alongside other options such as Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez.
