Abdullah Jalal, president of the Iraqi Duhok Club, announced that Al Ahli Club has completed its agreement to sign the Iraqi player Peter Korkis, the team's player, during the summer transfer period.

The Emirati newspaper Al Khaleej reported statements by Jalal that Korkis will join Al Ahli starting from the next season.

The president of Duhok Club described the financial value of the deal as "good".

Abdullah Jalal also confirmed, "The management of the Iraqi club did not stand as an obstacle to Korkis' professionalism at one of the largest clubs in Egypt and the Middle East, based on its keenness for the player's interest from both the technical and financial aspects."

He added, "The Egyptian league is considered one of the strongest Arab competitions, which will contribute to developing the player's level and gaining more experience."

Korkis, 25 years old, is proficient in playing in the right winger position.

The Iraqi player joined Duhok in the summer of 2024, coming from Swedish Malmö.

Korkis played 31 matches last season in the Iraqi league and cup competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 4 assists.

He finished third in the Iraqi league's top scorers table.

The player, born in Australia and holding Iraqi nationality, played throughout his career from the youth teams to the first team in the Swedish league before returning to Iraq through the Duhok gate.

Al Ahli had signed the Enppi duo Ali Mahmoud and Oktay Abdullah during the summer transfer period.

Al Ahli also announced that Moroccan Hussein Ammouta will take over coaching the team starting from the new season.
