Al-Ittihad Saudi strengthens its defense with a local deal

Al-Ittihad Saudi Club officially announced the signing of left-back Faris Abdi, coming from Neom Club, during the current summer transfer window.

The signing of the 27-year-old was to strengthen the left flank, to compensate for the Albanian international Mario Mitaj, who moved to the ranks of Genoa Italian on loan, with the option of a permanent purchase.

Faris Abdi signed a four-year contract with "Al-Ameed", marking his fifth experience in his professional career on the fields of the Saudi Roshn League.

Abdi has previously played for four clubs: Neom, Al-Fayhaa, Al-Qadsiah, and Al-Wahda.

Looking at the player's statistics, Abdi participated in 33 matches during the past season in the league competitions, playing 27 of them as a starter, and created two goals.

Al-Ittihad team had held a training camp in Spain, during which they played four friendly matches, in preparation for the new 2026-2027 season.

"Al-Ameed" is scheduled to play its first match in the new season against the Emirati Al-Jazira, on the 11th of this month, in the playoff of the AFC Champions League Elite.
