Al-Ittihad Saudi Club is moving to strengthen its ranks during the current summer transfer period, hoping to correct the team's course and return to competing for titles in the next season.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat", the management of "Al-Ameed" is seeking to strengthen the left-back position and sign a Saudi player during the current summer.
The newspaper revealed that among the most prominent options is player Hussein Al-Sobiani, Al-Shabab team player, and there is also interest in signing player Faris Abedi, Neom team player, who was one of the key elements of his team last season.
Saudi press reports had revealed movements by Al-Ittihad management to sign a local defender to compensate for player Ahmed Sharahili, who suffered a new injury.
The management is also currently focusing on concluding the deal for Khaled Al-Ghannam, Al-Ettifaq team player, as the deal is considered the closest to joining "Al-Ameed"'s ranks.
Al-Ittihad management had previously announced the signing of Al-Fayha player Rakan Al-Kaabi in a free transfer deal, to be the first deal for "Al-Ameed" during the summer transfer period.
"Al-Ameed" is expected to compete in several tournaments, namely: the Saudi Roshn League, the King's Cup, in addition to the AFC Champions League Elite playoff.
It is worth noting that Al-Ittihad team finished last season in fifth place, securing participation in the playoff stage of the AFC Champions League Elite competition.
