Al-Hilal defender Ali Lajami is nearing a return to group training following the injury that forced him into a rehabilitation period.
Lajami, 30, suffered the injury during the Al-Klassico match against Al-Ahli in the third round last September, where "Asia's Leader" secured a 3-0 victory.
At the time, Al-Hilal announced that Lajami required a treatment period of no less than three weeks, followed by medical rehabilitation, but no final date was set for his return to group training, according to the newspaper "Ar-Riyadiya".
Lajami joined Al-Hilal from Al-Nassr in the summer of 2025, playing numerous matches for the "Capital's Blue" across all competitions, both domestically and continentally.
Al-Hilal is preparing to face Al-Ittihad next Saturday in the eighth round of the Roshn Saudi League, 2026-2027 season edition.
Al-Hilal tops the Saudi League standings with 18 points after seven matches, having won six games and lost one against NEOM by two goals to nil.
In contrast, Al-Ittihad sits in second place, having won five matches and drawn two, against Al-Kholood (1-1) and Al-Hazem (0-0).
