Khaled El-Darndaly, Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association, clarified that the participation of Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Abdelmonem in the Egypt national team camp will be decided upon their return to Cairo.
The Egypt national team delegation is expected to return to Cairo on Wednesday ahead of a friendly match against South Africa scheduled for October 4 at Cairo Stadium.
The Vice President of the Football Association told Sada Al-Balad: "I noticed the players' determination to win before the match, which was evident during the game. Among the positives were goals scored by Omar Marmoush and Hamza Abdelkarim."
He added, "We will discuss the inclusion of Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Abdelmonem in the Egypt national team camp after returning to Cairo."
Salah did not travel to South Sudan due to the artificial turf pitch, while Abdelmonem did not participate in the 5-0 victory.
He continued, "So far, the host country for the Egyptian Super Cup has not been finalized."
He concluded, "At the next board meeting, we will review the technical staff candidates nominated to coach the Egypt Olympic team."
Egypt will host the African U-23 Championship finals next year, which serve as qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
