Al Ahly Club requested to honor the Egyptian national team delegation after the great achievement in the 2026 World Cup.
The Egyptian national team reached the round of 16 of the World Cup and bid farewell to the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Argentina.
The statement came as follows:
Al Ahly's statement said: "The club's board of directors, headed by Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, sent congratulations to the Egyptian Football Association headed by Engineer Hani Abu Rida, on the occasion of the great achievement achieved by the national team in the 2026 World Cup in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada".
He added: "He praised the wonderful performance of Egypt's heroes and their presentation of a level befitting Egyptian football, and the presidential honoring from His Excellency the President of the Republic, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to the national team delegation, was a true crowning of the state's care and unlimited support for Egyptian sports".
He concluded: "In extension of this official and national appreciation, the club requested the Football Association to determine the appropriate date to honor the national team players and their technical, administrative and medical staff".
