Media personality Ahmed Shobier revealed the truth behind Al Ahly Club's apology for not participating in the upcoming Egyptian Super Cup in its new edition.
Shobier stated on Al Nahar channel: "The United Arab Emirates has apologized for hosting the Egyptian Super Cup, and as of this moment, there is no specific date set for holding the tournament; anything is possible."

He added: "All clubs receive $50,000 for participation in the Super Cup, and no club has received the prizes from the last Super Cup yet, whether the champion, the runner-up, or even the third and fourth place teams."
He continued: "Al Ahly intends to request $500,000 for participation in the Super Cup, which is a large amount for the Football Association and the host country. If they stick to their demand, an invitation will be extended to another team, and certainly, the tournament will suffer marketing losses if Al Ahly does not participate."
He went on: "Al Ahly believes it deserves this amount, and its presence contributes to the success of the tournament, even if it was not the league or cup champion in the previous edition."
He completed: "Al Ahly Club has not yet received the prize money for winning the last Egyptian Super Cup. Al Ahly inquired with the Football Association, which said that last season brought two foreign referee crews for the matches against Zamalek and Pyramids, each costing $50,000, meaning $100,000, plus a refereeing crew for the upcoming summit match at $50,000, leaving $200,000."
He concluded: "Al Ahly requested tickets and other accommodation-related items, and these matters have not been settled yet; things are unclear."
