The technical staff of the first football team at Al-Ahly Club, led by coach Hussein Amouta, has decided to extend the rest period for the international players, after their appearance in the World Cup finals.
9 players from Al-Ahly participated in the 2026 World Cup finals, including 8 from the Egyptian national team (Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mustafa Shobier, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Marwan Attia, Imam Ashour, Mahmoud Trezeguet "departed", Ahmed Sayed Zizo) and one player who appeared in the Moroccan jersey (Youssef Belamri).
Extending the rest of the international players
Al-Ahly Club revealed the decision of the first team's technical staff to extend the rest period for the international players until July 30 of this month, so that they join the collective training the day after the end of the vacation, in preparation for traveling to participate in the external camp.
The team's technical staff had decided to grant the international players rest until July 27, following the end of their participation in the World Cup, which was held in the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada, before deciding to extend that period.
