After the cancellation of Tunisia and Ghana matches, Mali announces a friendly against Morocco

Via FilGoal

The Malian Football Federation announced that the Mali national team will play an international friendly match against the Morocco national team before the end of the current international break.

The decision by the Malian federation came after the cancellation of the friendly match against Tunisia, as well as Ghana's withdrawal from facing Morocco.

According to a statement by the Malian federation, the match will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Grand Stadium in Tangier, Morocco.

The match is part of both teams' preparation programs for upcoming international competitions.

Moroccan press reports revealed that players of the Ghana national team refused to travel to Morocco to play the friendly match between the two teams.

Morocco was scheduled to play against Ghana in a friendly match on October 4.

According to the Moroccan website Hesport, Ghana informed Morocco of its withdrawal from the friendly match scheduled for October 4 due to an internal crisis related to the financial dues of the Ghana national team players.

The same reports indicated that several players of the Ghana national team refused to travel to Morocco, casting doubt on the friendly match just days before its scheduled date. The Moroccan federation began moving to study possible alternatives in case the Ghana national team could not arrive in Tangier.

Morocco defeated Lesotho by two clean goals in the second round of Group A qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, in a match played at the Free State Stadium in South Africa.
