A source from Zamalek Club revealed the latest developments in the case of Moroccan player Abdelhamid Maali.

Details regarding a ruling obtained by Maali against Zamalek have spread across social media platforms.

A source from Zamalek said: "On July 30, we filed an appeal against the ruling granting Moroccan player Abdelhamid Maali the right to receive $611,000. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is currently reviewing Zamalek's appeal, after completing the necessary procedures and paying the required fees. A arbitrator will be appointed by CAS after notifying the other party (Abdelhamid Maali)."

He emphasized, "The details that recently circulated in the media relate to facts and the sequence of events since Maali unilaterally terminated his contract earlier this year. The current Zamalek board is handling this file, along with all other files, according to proper and established legal frameworks that preserve the club's rights."

Maali joined Zamalek at the beginning of the 2025-26 season, then unilaterally terminated his contract due to delays in receiving his dues.

Maali participated in 9 matches wearing the Zamalek jersey, without scoring or providing any assists during them.

After terminating his contract with Zamalek, Maali joined the Moroccan club Ittihad Tangier.
