Juventus club continues its efforts to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki of Parma, after the player has become one of the Old Lady's most prominent targets to bolster the goalkeeper position ahead of the 2026-2027 season competitions.
According to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Juventus has intensified its moves in recent times in search of a new goalkeeper and placed Suzuki among its priorities, after the list of candidates previously included names such as Guglielmo Vicario, Emiliano Martínez, Anatoliy Trubin, and Andriy Lunin.
Juventus's task appeared complicated, given Paris Saint-Germain's strong entry into negotiations with Parma.
The latest reports indicate that the French club appears closer than Juventus to concluding the deal, after submitting an official offer worth around 33 million euros, while negotiations continue to reach an agreement that could approach 35 million euros.
However, despite Paris's proximity, a door may open for an ideal solution for both parties, as the French club does not appear to need to rely on Suzuki as a starter during the upcoming season, making it open to the idea of loaning him out immediately after completing the deal, in order for the Japanese goalkeeper to gain regular playing time and develop his experience in Europe.
According to what "La Gazzetta dello Sport" reported, Juventus can benefit from Suzuki's services on loan, instead of paying a large sum to sign him permanently during the current summer.
The Italian newspaper indicated that this scenario has already become feasible and could give Paris the opportunity to own the goalkeeper in the long term, while Juventus obtains a goalkeeper capable of competing for a starting position without bearing the full cost of the deal.
Suzuki, who is 23 years old, enjoys great appreciation within Juventus, especially after the levels he has shown with Parma and the Japan national team.
Juventus had identified signing a new goalkeeper as one of its top priorities in the transfer market, given that the management is not fully convinced by the level of Michele Di Gregorio.
