The Egyptian delegation won 4 new medals during today's competitions at the "Taranto 2026" Mediterranean Games.
Omar El-Shabaki, a member of Egypt's gymnastics team, was awarded the silver medal after finishing second in the pommel horse event.
El-Shabaki's medal is the first for Egypt in the history of its participation in gymnastics events at the Mediterranean Games.

Olympic champion Sara Samir added two new gold medals to Egypt's tally after topping the 77 kg weightlifting competition.
Sara Samir secured first place in the snatch event with 110 kg, before clinching the clean and jerk gold by lifting 137 kg, in the presence of Yasser Edris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee.
Youssef Badawy added a bronze medal for Egypt in the 84 kg karate competition, raising the Egyptian delegation's total to 49 medals at the Mediterranean Games: 18 gold, 14 silver, and 17 bronze.
