Mostafa Shobeir, goalkeeper of Al-Ahly, spoke about his team's victory over Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League matches.

Shobeir said in statements to Al-Ahly TV: "There was more defensive compactness, and all we had to do was keep trying, striving, and taking the necessary steps, and God blessed us with a goal in the final minutes."
He added: "The start was somewhat difficult, but ultimately the most important thing is winning. As long as there is a victory and we secure the three points, everything will pass smoothly even if there are individual performances."
He continued: "Renewing my contract is a blessing from God; I am at home, and there is nothing new. What exists between me and Al-Ahly is not just contracts; I am one of the club's sons, and I do not like to oppose or do anything regarding the renewal."
He went on: "The matter did not take the time people thought; we held several meetings. People misunderstood that my agent demanded a penalty clause, and the club disagreed, which supposedly hindered the renewal. This talk has no basis in truth."
He added: "The club met with me right before the training camp and confirmed there would be no penalty clause. After the match, one of the officials spoke with me, explained the situation, and clarified that there would be no penalty clause, which I understood. Ultimately, this is the club's system, and I renewed without a penalty clause."
He continued: "The club initially agreed to the penalty clause, but eventually, we disagreed on the duration. In the end, the club retracted its decision, and I respected that. Ultimately, I am at home; the name Shobeir is linked to Al-Ahly Club, even if any controversy arises."
He added: "We are sons of the club, and Al-Ahly has great favor over us. I am the number-one goalkeeper for both the national team and Al-Ahly, and all this is due to Al-Ahly's favor and the support of the fans."
He concluded: "I thank Al-Ahly fans for their presence and support, and I hope no one tries to create discord between us in any matter. Let us continue supporting the players even if some setbacks occur. As long as we remain united, we will triumph in all tournaments."
