Six Arab federations, including the Egyptian Football Association, issued a joint statement announcing their full support for the Swiss Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football "FIFA".
The statement was signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association and Vice President of the Arab Football Union and member of the FIFA Council, and Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association and Vice President of the Arab Union and member of the FIFA Council.
In addition to Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and member of the FIFA Council, and Ahmed Yahya, President of the Mauritanian Football Association and member of the FIFA Council, in addition to Hashem Haidar, President of the Lebanese Football Association, and Moatasem Jaafar, President of the Sudanese Football Association.
The six presidents stressed their confidence in Infantino's leadership and his continued commitment to developing football around the world and the importance of the role that Arab football plays in bringing peoples closer together and strengthening cooperation.
The statement expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Infantino to develop football globally and to expand participation opportunities for various regions in the game.
