The Al Ahly club player is approaching an official departure from the team's ranks, after being excluded from the calculations of the technical director of the Red Castle, Hussein Amouta, before the start of the new 2026-2027 season.
Al Ahly club is currently in a training camp in Spain, as part of preparations for the new season, where it will face the teams of Badalona and Barcelona in two friendly matches on the 12th and 19th of this August.

Adi Al-Rubaie, a member of the board of directors of the Iraqi Police Club, revealed via "On Sport FM" radio for the "Mercato" program: "We contacted Al Ahly club four days ago to obtain the services of Mohamed Sherif on loan for one season and we are still waiting for a response".
He added: "The Iraqi league starts on August 14 and we hope to support our ranks with Mohamed Sherif due to the player's distinctive offensive capabilities".
He concluded: "The reputation of Egyptian football in Iraq is more than wonderful after the successful experiences of Mohamed Youssef and Moamen Soliman and we hope to conclude the Mohamed Sherif deal quickly".
