Media personality Ahmed Shoubir confirmed that the Al Ahly player would have preferred to move to Zamalek club after leaving the Red Castle, pointing to a single obstacle that prevented the deal from being completed.
Shoubir said in statements on his radio program today: "There is a lot of talk circulating about the players, whether those leaving Al Ahly club or those continuing, the leavers are known, the last of whom was Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan who moved to the Qatari North".
He continued: "As well as Mohamed Sherif, who is still weighing between many offers, and I confirm that Zamalek if it were able to register players in the current period, Sherif would have joined the White Castle, because he is very much in demand there, and this is information I am responsible for".

He added: "And he would not have blamed Mohamed Sherif for moving to Zamalek, because Al Ahly club is the one that left him, and this matter does not bother anyone, he was a player at Al Ahly and the club dispensed with him, and the fans in the recent period were blaming and attacking him".
He concluded: "Mohamed Sherif will leave Al Ahly, and is weighing between the available offers, no less than 3 or 4 clubs want the player, and I have great conviction in him as a distinguished striker".
