The transfer deal for Moroccan player Soufiane Benjdida, striker and top scorer of Maghreb Fes, has become close to completion in favor of Al Ahly Club, in order to bolster the forward line of the Cairo team starting from next season.
Recent days have witnessed intense negotiations by Al Ahly Club officials with the management of Maghreb Fes, in order to sign Benjdida to represent the team in the new season.
Benjdida close to Al Ahly
A source inside Maghreb Fes revealed, in exclusive statements to "Yalla Koura", late on Saturday, that the Moroccan club's management has shown flexibility regarding the player's move to Al Ahly.
The source, who preferred not to be named, added in his statements to "Yalla Koura" that Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta played a major role in this deal, which made the Moroccan club's management welcome its completion.
The source explained that the past few hours have seen positive developments in Benjdida's transfer to Al Ahly, with only some minor details remaining to finalize the deal definitively between the two club managements.
The source pointed to negotiations between the two club managements regarding some contract clauses, especially financial matters and the payment mechanism, particularly since Al Ahly's management prefers to pay the financial compensation in installments.
Maghreb Fes had initially insisted on receiving 4 million euros, the value of the player's release clause in his contract, while Al Ahly's management conducted negotiations to try to reduce the financial demands.
In return, "Yalla Koura" learned from its sources inside Al Ahly that there is an intention to submit a financial offer exceeding 2.5 million euros, in order to secure the player's services. Read the details
The source explained that the new offer consists of 2.5 million euros plus 500 thousand euros in add-ons, and the agreed amount will be paid in two installments instead of three.
Benjdida is considered one of the most prominent stars of the Moroccan league in the concluded season, having scored 20 goals and provided two assists during 31 matches he played with the team, according to the player's stats on the global "Transfermarkt".
What transpired between Al Ahly and Maghreb Fes regarding Benjdida?
Benjdida was included in Morocco's initial squad that participated in the 2026 World Cup, and the "Atlas Lions'" campaign ended with an exit in the quarterfinals after a 2-0 loss to France.
The past period has seen Al Ahly's football officials strongly engage in the transfer file, after signing Enppi's duo Aktai Abdullah and Ali Mahmoud.
Al Ahly's management also reached an agreement with Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb to sign Algerian striker Mounsef Bekkar, to bolster the forward line, alongside the Benjdida deal.
It is worth noting that Al Ahly faces strong challenges to make up for last season's failure, by competing for the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup titles domestically, in addition to participating in the African Confederation Cup continentally.
