Mohammed Wahbi, coach of the Moroccan national team, expressed his pride in what his team's players presented despite bidding farewell to the 2026 World Cup at the hands of France.
The Moroccan national team lost 2-0 to France in the quarter-finals, thus ending the journey of the African and Arab teams in the tournament.
Wahbi said via BeIN Sports: "We must admit that we faced a very good opponent, we faced great difficulty and Bono saved a penalty in the first half".
He continued, "In the second half we started better and the goal came from confusion after the players stopped due to a handball".
He added, "It was difficult in the end and we have to work on the basics and have more options to compensate for absences and injuries, we feel disappointed".
He added, "The future will be beautiful if we continue like this, we gave everything to win the match and we must continue working and trust ourselves more and not let the defeat break us".
He concluded, "We know that we represent more than just one country. We represent the Moroccan people, and many countries in Asia and Africa. Many people see themselves in this team, and we will continue to work to win titles in the future".
