Juventus has entered into preliminary negotiations to sign the Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, Aston Villa's goalkeeper, during the current summer transfer window.
Emiliano Martinez
Club: Aston Villa
Martinez's contract with Aston Villa ends in the summer of 2029.
Fabrizio Romano, the journalist specializing in transfer market news, revealed that the Italian club made an initial offer to the player, who welcomed the idea of moving to the ranks of the Old Lady.
However, the deal is still linked to reaching an agreement with Aston Villa, as negotiations between the two clubs have not yet exceeded their initial stages.
And in case the negotiations falter, Juventus is placing the Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham on the list of alternatives, given his imminent departure from the English club this summer.
Emiliano is competing in the World Cup with the Argentine national team after qualifying for the quarter-finals after defeating the Egyptian team 3-2 and will face Switzerland in the next round.
Martinez played 256 matches with Aston Villa, conceding 305 goals and keeping a clean sheet in 80 matches.
