The Portuguese Football Federation announced on Wednesday the termination of the contract with the national team coach Roberto Martinez.

Martinez said in statements to journalists: "This match represents the end of a complete cycle for this team".
He added "My contract ended today, and the federation now has the opportunity to appoint a new coach".
He continued "I came to Portugal to win the World Cup, and I see no reason to continue after not achieving this goal".
