Vozinha shone in Cape Verde's first appearance at the World Cup, contributing to reaching the round of 32 before being eliminated by Argentina.
According to "The Athletic" network, Spanish researcher Jesús Ortía discovered 4-millimeter-long marine mollusks in the Caribbean region near Cuba.
He named it "Aldisa vozinhai," meaning Vozinha's marine mollusk.
Ortía noted in his research that choosing the name Vozinha was a way to thank the people of Cape Verde, the country where he was awarded the Environmental Merit Medal in 2023, which served as recognition for his contributions to the study of marine biodiversity in the archipelago.
Ortía had previously named a species of small marine snail after former Real Madrid and Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas in 2019.
The English newspaper The Sun indicated that the goalkeeper is a candidate to join the American team in a free transfer deal.
Vozinha has played for 9 different clubs during his career, most notably with Portuguese side Gil Vicente.
