Hossam Hassan, coach of the Egyptian national team, stressed the readiness of the Pharaohs to face the anticipated confrontation against Argentina.

The Egyptian national team will play against Argentina shortly within the round of 16 of the World Cup competition.

Hossam Hassan said via beIN Sports: "We deal with the tournament match by match, and our focus now is entirely on the match against Argentina. We have the right to look forward to pleasing the Egyptian people and the Arab and African fans. We take all the reasons into account, and we have worked on them well. We respect the opponent, but in the end, the effort and performance on the field are what decide the result".

He added, "If there were additional days between matches, that would be better in terms of recovery, but we have prepared ourselves well, and done everything we need to. We did not do a heavy training session, but rather a light workout".

He continued, "I only wished that the match time would be delayed a little, especially since we are no longer in the group stage and one day sees one or two matches in the knockout stages".

He concluded, "No one wakes up from sleep to play a match, (jokingly) I think the one who set these times doesn't understand football".

The Egyptian national team qualified for the round of 16 after winning against Australia on penalties 4-2 after the end of regular and extra time with a 1-1 draw.

As for the Argentine national team, they eliminated Cape Verde with a score of 3-2 after the match went to extra time.

The winner of that match will meet in the quarter-finals against the winner of Colombia against Switzerland, scheduled for 11 pm today.
