Titi Yengi, a player for the Australian national team, revealed how he embraced Islam.

The player shared on his Instagram account how he entered the Islamic faith.
The 25-year-old is preparing to face the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup today, Friday, at 9 PM.
Yengi said in the video: "There wasn't a specific moment when I said: I will become a Muslim. What happened was that during my visit to the mosque to see how to perform the prayer and what happens inside the mosque."
He added, "At that time, Mufti Mink was visiting the mosque in my hometown of Adelaide, Australia."
He continued, "After the Friday prayer ended, my uncle took me to the Mufti while everyone was rushing to take pictures with him."
He added, "When I shook hands with Mufti Mink, he asked me: Have you pronounced the Shahada? I replied: No, I haven't pronounced it yet. He said: Do you want to pronounce it now? I felt that I couldn't refuse, so I pronounced the Shahada with him there."
Yengi, who is 25 years old and plays as a forward, participated in two matches in the 2026 World Cup against Paraguay and Turkey as a substitute.
Yengi, who was born in Australia, has English roots and is also from South Sudan.
Last January, he moved to the Japanese team Machida, which lost the final of the AFC Champions League to Al-Ahli Jeddah by a goal to nil.
