Wolfsburg German club announced the latest updates on the health condition of Danish international Christian Eriksen, confirming that the player will soon start an individual rehabilitation program in his home country, Denmark.
The club explained, in an official statement, that the decision came after consultations between Eriksen and administrative director Dieter Hecking, where it was decided that the 34-year-old player would complete the rehabilitation phase inside Denmark, with regular communication continuing between the club, the player, and the doctors supervising his condition.
Wolfsburg affirmed its full support for Eriksen, wishing him a speedy recovery and success during the rehabilitation period, noting that it is continuously following the developments of his health condition.
Eriksen had suffered a sudden health malaise during a friendly match against Ukraine last month, after falling on the pitch holding his chest, which necessitated the intervention of the medical staff and stopping the match.
This scene brought back to mind the famous incident that the Danish star suffered during Euro 2020, when he collapsed suddenly in Denmark's match against Finland, before being rescued and taken to the hospital.
