Wael Gomaa, the football director at Al Ahly Club, revealed the date on which international players will join team training sessions in preparation for the resumption of official competitions during the upcoming period.
Gomaa stated in comments via Al Ahly's official website that the team's players who have joined the Egyptian national team will resume training on October 6, following the completion of their duty with the national team.
The football director clarified that Algerian player Monsef Bakrar will join training on October 8, after completing his duty with his national team.
Al Ahly resumed its training this evening at Talaat Harb Stadium, following the rest day the team had yesterday after playing a friendly match against Misr El Maqasa.
Al Ahly is preparing for the return of official competitions, facing Bترول Assiut (Petroleum Assiut) on October 7 as part of the Egypt Capital Cup competition.
In another context, Al Ahly's technical staff set October 14 as the departure date for the team's delegation to Uganda, in preparation for facing Ugandan side Kitara at the start of the team's journey in the African Confederation Cup tournament.
Wael Gomaa said that the travel date was determined in coordination with the technical staff, aligning with the preparation program for the anticipated match, noting coordination with the Egyptian Embassy in Uganda to finalize and arrange all matters related to the team's trip.
Al Ahly will face Ugandan team Kitara on October 17 in the first leg of the Round of 32 of the African Confederation Cup tournament.
For its part, Al Ahly Club's medical staff, headed by Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, ensured taking all necessary medical measures before the team's travel to Uganda.
The team doctor revealed that Al Ahly players and members of the technical staff received the required medical vaccinations, in accordance with procedures followed before traveling to several African countries.
