Volleyball - Women's National Team Starts African Nations with Victory Over Burkina Faso

The Egyptian women's volleyball team kicked off their campaign in the African Nations Championship with a victory over Burkina Faso.

Kenya is hosting the Women's African Nations Championship until September 5.

The winner of the Women's African Nations Championship will qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Egyptian women's team defeated Burkina Faso by three sets to nil in the first round of the group stage.

Egypt will play their next match against Senegal tomorrow, Wednesday.

Senegal lost their opening match to Uganda by the same scoreline, three sets to nil.

The groups for the Women's African Championship were as follows:

Group One: Kenya - Mali - Zambia.

Group Two: Egypt - Uganda - Burkina Faso - Senegal.

Group Three: Cameroon - Nigeria - Tunisia - Ghana.

Group Four: Rwanda - Algeria - DR Congo - Burundi.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

The champion of the African Championship will qualify directly for the Los Angeles Olympics.
