Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk made statements following today's loss in a friendly match against Monaco, as part of preparations for the upcoming new season that will kick off later in August.
Liverpool lost to Monaco by three goals to two, in a friendly match witnessed on Sunday afternoon at "Anfield" stadium (To view the details from here).
Van Dijk said, in statements published by the English network "AnfieldSector": "Iraola? Everything is fine, we talked together wonderfully in the first week after announcing the contract with him".
He added: "The most important thing he needs to know, and I have certainly told him, is that we are here for him no matter what he needs, whether for the team or anything else, I am here for him, we hope to achieve success this season, that is what we want".
He continued: "Nothing diminishes Arne Slot and his staff either, we have been together and had a wonderful time, we were disappointed by last season for sure, this year we have a new coach and different methods in preparation, we have to adapt to them all".
He added: "I really enjoyed working under Slot, I am confident that I will also enjoy working under our new coach".
When asked about Liverpool's imminent signing of Ronald Araujo, he said: "We will welcome any player who comes to the club, I do not know if the deal has been officially announced or not, I have no idea, I have not seen him yet, let's wait and see".
Liverpool will play another friendly match next Sunday against Como, before starting their Premier League campaign against Newcastle United on August 23.
