Via Btolat

On Sunday evening, a new friendly match took place between the teams of Liverpool and Monaco, as part of the clubs' preparations for the upcoming new 2026/27 season, which will kick off later this August.

Anfield Stadium hosted the friendly match between Liverpool and Monaco, where Andoni Iraola's squad lost three goals to two.

Liverpool took the lead with a goal from Alexander Isak in the 16th minute of the first half, while Florian Wirtz added the second goal in spectacular fashion in the 29th minute.

Liverpool's performance later declined, as it had in the previous match against Leeds United, with Monaco scoring their first goal in the 44th minute from a penalty by Alexander Golovin.

In the 56th minute, Mika Pérez equalized for the French side Monaco, before Paris Brunner scored the decisive winning goal in the 88th minute.

Liverpool lost in the same manner against Leeds United after leading 2-0 in a friendly a few days earlier, only to end up losing 4-2.

Liverpool will play another friendly next Sunday against Italian side Como, before starting their English Premier League campaign with a match against Newcastle United on August 23.
