Fatih Tekke, the head coach of Trabzonspor, made statements following their victory over Başakşehir in their match on Sunday evening within the Turkish Football Super League competitions.
Trabzonspor achieved a precious 2-1 victory over Başakşehir in the second round of the 2026/27 Turkish Super League season, thanks to a brace from Mohamed Salah.
Fatih Tekke said in statements published by the Turkish network "61saat": "We have raised our expectations ceiling thanks to the good performance we delivered in both matches. Trabzonspor will be at its best with the return of injured players and their regained rhythm, alongside repeating our customary performance."
He added: "We are absolutely not satisfied with the referee's management of the match; the referee wronged us as well in Thursday's match. We have an important, extremely difficult match next Thursday, and we must prepare for it."
He continued: "As I said, we strive from our president to the technical staff to the players for the team's success and development. We achieved a very important victory today. The match could have ended with four or five goals, but if we had conceded a goal in the last second, it would have ended in a 2-2 draw. However, I am not satisfied with the refereeing in today's match."

He went on: "There is a group that looks at the negative side of things; this group may be outside the club, a group trying to stir up a crisis at Trabzonspor. I will never accept immorality."
He added: "Mohamed Salah's performance makes us say he is a star, but not only because of his performance. Some players think, 'Can I become a global star like him?' He is a player capable of making the right decisions at every moment, on and off the pitch, at the beginning and end of training. He is an incredibly professional player."
He stated: "Mohamed Salah is one of the most important football players in the world; everyone knows that. May God protect him from the evil eye. Perhaps some wonder, 'Can they manage these players?' My team's stars do not need any management at all; they are extremely professional. May God bless them."
