Trabzonspor Club President, Ertuğrul Doğan, launched an attack on the refereeing after today's victory against Başakşehir in the Turkish Football Super League.
Trabzonspor achieved a 2-1 win over Başakşehir in the second round of the 2026/27 Turkish Super League season.
Mohamed Salah scored both goals for Trabzonspor in today's match against Başakşehir; he also scored two additional goals that were disallowed at the end of the game. Furthermore, a penalty kick awarded to him was rejected, and he received a yellow card.
Ertuğrul Doğan stated in remarks published by the Turkish network "61saat": "Good evening everyone. We have been planning for this over the past two years. We have been in conflict with our respected coach since last season, as well as with our distinguished players."

He emphasized: "What we witnessed over the past two weeks is not satisfactory at all. Neither what happened in the first match nor what occurred today was acceptable."
He added: "There is no point in coming to Trabzon and playing while we are in such a state of tension. We do not wish to engage in arguments, but I ask everyone not to pick fights with us."
He continued: "I address my words to the President of the Turkish Football Federation. This type of refereeing hinders Turkish football. I want the refereeing community to be more vigilant across all matches."
He further stated: "We are fighting, and they should not unfairly stand in our way during this struggle."
