Ertugrul Dogan, president of the Turkish club Trabzonspor, revealed more details about the transfer deal of Mohamed Salah, the former English Liverpool star, to his team's ranks.
Ertugrul Dogan said in statements to the Turkish channel TRT: "While following the World Cup, it is clear that Mohamed Salah is the best football player in the Islamic world.. His career has always been marked by consistency and success".
He added: "We saw in England the extent of the respect he enjoys, he is a role model for us, and we will attract and develop talented young players from all over the world.. We will generate revenue from that, but at the same time, it is necessary to maintain a certain balance within the team".
He continued: "Fatih Teke, the team's coach, showed great courage, as he competed with a young team, and trained the young players, Visca and Nwakaeme are two players with strong will, and they contributed greatly to our success".
He completed: "I contacted Fatih Teke, and asked him: 'What do you think of Salah?' He replied: 'What do you say?' I said: 'Your message reached me', then I spoke with Salah's agent, who informed me that they had reached a certain stage with a team from Turkey".
He went on: "As is customary at Trabzonspor, we decided to wait and told them that we would inform them of any developments that would occur later, then Besiktas announced its withdrawal from the negotiations".
Ertugrul Dogan concluded his statements by saying: "After that, we intensified the talks, the club's vice president spoke with him, and we spoke with his agent.. Frankly, it took five to six days".
Last week, Trabzonspor announced the signing of 34-year-old Mohamed Salah to a two-season contract, under which he receives a guaranteed annual salary of 17 million euros.
