The French Football Federation announced a change to its logo and visual identity.
This comes 24 hours after the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as technical director of the French national team. (See details)
The French Federation also launched a comprehensive visual identity, designed around the historical colors of the French national teams: blue, white, red, and gold; enhanced with new shades of blue and pale yellow.
The French Federation's statement on its website revealed: "This new identity addresses several objectives: updating the current visual identity, adapting it better to digital, marketing, and event uses, and providing a common graphic framework for all national selections."

It added, "It also aims to bring the logo of the French national teams and the rooster logo on the jerseys closer together to give more clarity and unity to all forms of expression."
It continued, "The essence of this new identity lies in a redesigned rooster, bolder and more present, carrying a triumphant spirit. A historical symbol of French football, this design draws inspiration from the logos that have accompanied the federation and national teams for more than a century, while adopting a more modern design."

The French Football Federation (FFF) also chose to prominently link the word "France" with this new rooster.

Why does the rooster represent the French national team?
The kings of France adopted the rooster as a symbol of courage and boldness. During the French Revolution, the rooster became a symbol of the people and the state.
The French rooster can be seen in many places: on French postage stamps, and at the entrance to the Élysée Palace.
In sports, it appears on the jerseys of French football, rugby, and handball teams, and on the jerseys of Olympic athletes.
Zidane will play his first match at the head of the French national team's technical staff away from home against Turkey, at the end of September, as part of the 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League competitions.
Deschamps played his last match at the head of the French national team's technical staff when he lost to England in the third-place match at the World Cup a few days ago.
