Ahmed Al-Mousawi, a member of the Iraqi Football Federation's board of directors, clarified the truth behind negotiations with Moamen Soliman, the coach of Al-Karma club.

Graham Arnold faces the threat of dismissal from his position following Iraq's elimination from the 27th Gulf Cup in the first round.

Al-Mousawi stated in comments to Modern MTAI channel: "When Moamen Soliman's name is mentioned for coaching the Iraqi national team, it is not surprising, as he is a coach who has achieved success in the Iraqi league, and fans and media recognize this."

He added: "The current coach, Graham Arnold, has a contract that continues until the end of the Asian Cup next January. We might lean towards keeping him due to time constraints and stability factors."

He continued: "Linking Moamen Soliman's name to coaching the Iraqi national team is natural given his achievements, but currently these are just speculations."

The Iraqi national team, led by Arnold, participated in the 27th Gulf Cup held between September 23 and October 6.

Oman tied with Iraq on points (4), goal difference, and number of yellow cards in Group A of the 27th Gulf Cup, necessitating a draw to determine which team would advance alongside Saudi Arabia.

The draw eliminated the Iraqi team, favoring Oman, who advanced to the semi-finals before losing 1-0 to UAE.
